Today I woke up and pictured what a modern day robin hood would look like. To steal from the rich and give to the poor. How cool and virtuous! And then later that day I went to go see a dentist.
To my surprise, I saw what modern day robin hood would look like, except in reverse. I had to get my upper right wisdom tooth removed, and the original estimate was $40 through phone call, but then a few days later I received a mail saying that it would approximately be $90. Then after the incredibly long and complex 5 minute procedure they told me the cost was $240. What tomfoolery! I hope they put use the $240 they got from a broke student to good use. I truly do.
I doubt it would've tasted all that bitter if it was estimated to be that much beforehand, but to see a near 6x increase from the original $40 estimate, I can't say that it didnt leave a bad aftertaste. After all, you don't want to just dive into cold water, you've ought to warm yourself up or you might end up with a nasty little surprise from your heart. This surprise has sure left me feeling petty!
I'd have felt much better if the original estimated price was much higher than what was to actually be paid, even if the final price were to be the same $240 that I gave away with great despair, but if this was a part of the model, dentists would probably lose more customers before they even got to operate.
